Prime NDT Services, Inc. was incorporated in October, 1996 and began operation in January 1997. In our first 15 years we have more than surpassed our anticipated sales and look forward to continued growth.
Prime’s management team has accumulated 100 years of diversified NDE experience and each team member holds Level III certifications, to include CWI certifications. Their diversified experience covers all relevant codes utilized in the United States and many foreign codes utilized by Prime’s clients.
Our President has specialized in ASME, API and AWWA codes, with extensive experience in Pressure vessel and Elevated tank work. His career started working for his Father and Uncle as a technician performing a mix of pipeline and tank work. He was also heavily involved with the safety aspects of this line of work and has been Prime’s Radiation Safety Officer since 2000. He currently holds ASNT Level III and AWS CWI certifications.
Our Senior Vice President is a recognized leader in the metal working industry. His career started as a welder working in pressure vessel shops and as a welder for Ingalls Ship Yard on their first nuclear submarine contract. His knowledge gained while welding has enhanced his career in the field of non-destructive testing, which includes power generation, petro-chem, refinery, cement, foundry, pipelines, etc.
Prime currently has a fleet of heavy duty 4 X 4 pickups equipped with darkrooms and generators; including Ford F-450′s equipped with Cable-Reel Crawler set-ups for internal Radiography of pipe ranging in size from 16″ through 42″. All mobile units are equipped to handle Radiographic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, and U.T. thickness inspection at the job site at no additional cost.
For Pipeline projects with rough terrain, we have Polaris Utility Vehicles available to ensure that our crews get their work done safer and more efficiently.
Prime also provides x-ray tubes for either external or internal Radiography, to include x-ray inspection of large diameter vessels where 360° coverage is required on girth seams.
